Its inside a conservatory and I can only get to it between 9am and 5pm. I've tried both sunny and cloudy days. I've done manual exposure bracketing. Sometimes I take up to 20 different settings. I haven't tried a tripod though. That is a good idea. Thanks!
Here is another thought I had. Do the tripod but also bring along a reasonable sized mirror. Go when there is some good sunlight hitting that area. Put the camera on the tripod, Set up the composition.. and shoot by not touching the camera.
When you get it set, take the mirror and play with it and that will allow you to put light from right left etc
Thank you so much. I've been there so many times and taken so many photos of that flower. It was nice to get one that was post able. I still think I can do better though. The section that is cropped out was washed out.
